Hey brothers and sisters,

Got a new confession video on www.christp2p.com called “Randy Davenport,” and it’s one that really hits close to home for me.

Back when I was about 20 and homeless in Nashville, I met some unforgettable people. Randy Davenport was one of them. He was the first friend my buddy John Collins made when he was newly homeless. Randy was a decent guy but had his struggles with drugs. I didn’t know him very well, but one day we ended up hanging out together.

I had some extra cash from working long hours and decided to spend it with Randy. We sat on the deck of an old abandoned house downtown, eating sardines and crackers, drinking Faygo, and smoking weed. We talked about life, and he shared personal stories. It was a simple but meaningful day.

The next morning, I found out Randy had been murdered that night, hit in the head with a hammer over an argument about drugs. It broke my heart. I couldn’t stop thinking about what could’ve been different if I had stayed with him that night. Would he still be alive? Would I have been hurt too?

Later on, I met Randy’s brother, Don. He had come to Nashville after Randy’s death. Don had his own struggles but wanted to be where his brother had been. Meeting him brought a bit of closure, but it also deepened the sadness of losing Randy.

This video is my way of honoring Randy’s memory and reflecting on the impact of our choices and the importance of showing kindness, even in our darkest times. I hope Randy’s story reminds us all to cherish the moments we have and to remember the people who have touched our lives, no matter how briefly.

Check out the video, and let’s keep Randy in our hearts. God bless.
