Hey everyone! Jason here from Christ Peer-to-Peer. Today, I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind a lot lately—water baptism. 💧✝️
I come from an evangelical Christian background where the core belief is that all you need to do is believe in Jesus, and you’re saved. No need for atonement, repentance, communion, or baptism—just faith in Christ, and you’re good to go for eternity. 🕊️
But recently, I’ve been diving deep into the topic of baptism. I’ve spent dozens of hours reading about it, exploring the various opinions and arguments people have had over the last 2,000 years. I’ve watched countless videos and tried to educate myself thoroughly on this subject. 📚🎥
In the end, what it boils down to for me is a simple question: did Jesus get baptized? The answer is yes, He did. And it was one of the first public acts of His ministry. If baptism was important enough for Jesus to do it, then it should be important for us too. 💦
So, while my evangelical roots emphasize faith alone, I can’t ignore the example set by Christ Himself. He got baptized, and that speaks volumes to me about the significance of this act.
On a lighter note, I was out with my buddy Ollie today by a little waterfall. He was exploring and having a blast. Just a reminder that amidst our spiritual journeys, we need to appreciate the simple, beautiful moments in life. 🌿
Thanks for listening. Keep seeking, keep learning, and let’s follow Christ’s example in all we do.
